Needed a quick tire patch and oil change before leaving on a trip. Called and Sergio was able to fit me in when many other places I called just said no. Helped me with a couple questions that were not related to my service and took the time to show me the part I would need and where to find it!

We have now brought three different vehicles here for non-routine services: gas tank replacement, timing belt, etc. All three repairs were handled with care and attention to detail, and came back better than expected. It’s awesome to have such a good repair shop in Soquel/Capitola.

Juan and his crew are good, honest mechanics. They get the work done in a timely way. The last sweet of tires I bought from them lasted over 50 thousand miles! They maintain my car for oil changes and regular maintenance and I have not yet had a problem with my car despite having over 100k miles.

Frequently asked
questions

Why should I replace my tires?

Good tires ensure proper road grip, improve maneuverability and improve fuel economy. When your tires are worn out, you increase the risk of losing control of your vehicle and potentially hurting yourself or others.

If you notice that multiple tires are worn down, you should immediately change all damaged tires. Having your tires installed by Wilson’s Tires ensures the right tires are fitted correctly to your vehicle.

Why and when should I rotate tires?

If you notice uneven wear on your tires you might not feel the need to change them. To improve the longevity and performance of your tires, take them to Wilson’s Tires for a tire rotation. Tire rotation changes the position of your tires to ensure the tread wears evenly.

When should worn tires be replaced?

A tire’s tread determines how much grip it has on the road. If the tread of your tires has worn down, you might feel your car is “slipping” all over the road, especially when the roads are wet. Replace your tires when 2/32nds of an inch of tread depth remains, as indicated by tread wear indicators molded into the tread grooves. Using worn-out tires with less than 2/32nds inch (1.6 mm) tire tread depth increases the probability of tire failure, and in wet conditions can cause the tire to lose traction suddenly. In most states, it is illegal to drive with less than 2/32nds of an inch of remaining tread depth.

Can I mix tire types on my car?

For best all-around performance, the same type of tire should be used on all four-wheel positions. Tires of different size designations, constructions, and stages of wear can affect vehicle handling and stability. NOTE: Some vehicles are intentionally fitted with different-sized tires on the front and rear.

Why did my tires wear so quickly?

Some examples of causes of premature tire wear are improper inflation, driving conditions, misaligned vehicles, worn vehicle parts, and a variety of other reasons. Without physically inspecting the tires, it is difficult to determine why your tires are worn prematurely. Stop by Wilson’s Tires for a tire inspection.

What is the recommended tire pressure?

We recommend using the tire pressure that your vehicle manufacturer requires. This information is usually posted on the inside driver’s door jamb. We suggest you use the manufacturer’s posted tire pressure.
